In mid-November, the vessel “ONE Henry Hudson” experienced a fire incident while berthed at the Port of Los Angeles. On November 28, Ocean Network Express (หนึ่ง) officially declared General Average, requiring all cargo owners with shipments onboard to contribute proportionally to the loss and salvage costs.
Only days later, on December 1, ONE issued a new and important notice announcing a major update to its Cargo Misdeclaration Fee structure, effective January 1, 2026. This update follows the fire incident and highlights the growing operational and safety risks associated with inaccurate cargo declarations.
ONE reminded all shippers and freight forwarders that accurate cargo declaration is absolutely essential—both for safety compliance and seamless handling across the supply chain. Any misdeclaration, omission, or concealment of cargo details may trigger significant surcharges under the Cargo Breach Application (CBA) process.
The new penalty structure applies to all trade lanes and services and will remain in effect until further notice.
