A practical Thailand–New Zealand freight solution

CHINA BRF Logistics coordinates cargo from Thai factories and suppliers through export handling, ocean or air booking, New Zealand arrival formalities and final delivery. Service scope is tailored to your Incoterm, cargo type, volume, delivery address and importer setup.

For sea freight, Laem Chabang is the main gateway for containerized exports. Bangkok-area pickup, supplier communication, warehouse receiving, consolidation and container loading can be arranged before departure.

Main ocean gateway

Laem Chabang to New Zealand ports

Most containerized cargo moves from Laem Chabang. The final port is selected according to the consignee location, sailing schedule, transshipment plan and inland-delivery cost.

Thailand originLaem Chabang
New Zealand destinationsNorth & South Islands
AucklandKey gateway for Auckland and upper North Island distribution.
TaurangaMajor container port serving Bay of Plenty and inland markets.
Wellington / NapierSchedule-dependent options for central and lower North Island cargo.
LytteltonPrimary gateway for Christchurch and much of the South Island.

Indicative port-to-port transit commonly falls around 20–38 days depending on destination, carrier, transshipment and sailing week. Transit time is not guaranteed; request a live schedule for your shipment.

Choose by volume and urgency

FCL, LCL or air freight?

The lowest ocean rate is not always the lowest delivered cost. Cargo volume, packing, handling risk, origin charges and final delivery all affect the decision.

Best for smaller cargo

LCL Shipping

Your cargo shares container space and is charged mainly by chargeable volume. Suitable for commercial shipments that do not fill a container.

  • Pricing basis: CBM / chargeable measure
  • Typical fit: pallets, crates and cartons
  • Origine: consolidation warehouse
  • Check: long-length and non-stackable cargo
Best for urgent cargo

Trasporto aereo

For samples, spare parts and time-sensitive goods, air freight from Bangkok can reduce transport time, subject to airline capacity and cargo restrictions.

  • Pricing basis: chargeable weight
  • Typical fit: urgent and higher-value cargo
  • Airports: Bangkok to Auckland/Christchurch
  • Check: batteries, liquids and DG status

Frequently asked questions

Thailand to New Zealand shipping FAQ

How long does sea freight from Thailand to New Zealand take?

Port-to-port transit is often around 20–38 days, depending on the New Zealand port, carrier, transshipment plan and sailing week. Add time for supplier pickup, consolidation, customs/MPI processing and inland delivery. Always request a live schedule.

Should I use FCL or LCL?

FCL is generally better for larger volumes, heavier cargo or goods requiring fewer handling points. LCL is useful for smaller commercial shipments, but origin/destination handling, minimum charges, long-length surcharges and non-stackable cargo can change the final comparison.

Can BRF pick up cargo from a factory in Thailand?

Yes. Pickup can be arranged from Bangkok, Chonburi, Rayong and other supplier locations, subject to cargo size, vehicle access and pickup requirements. We can also coordinate supplier readiness and warehouse receiving.

Can you deliver to an Auckland warehouse or project site?

Yes, subject to customs and MPI release, site access and the agreed service scope. Please provide the full postcode and advise whether a loading dock, forklift, crane, tail-lift or delivery appointment is needed.

What information is needed for a freight quote?

Provide the product name, HS code if available, package count, dimensions, gross weight, total CBM, pickup address, delivery postcode, cargo readiness date, Incoterm and any dangerous-goods, battery, wood-packaging or special-handling details.

Does the quotation include New Zealand GST and duty?

Only when the written quotation expressly includes them. Import GST, duty, MPI inspection, storage, detention, demurrage and special delivery costs depend on shipment facts and should be confirmed before booking.
