Door-to-door shipping connects the supplier's factory or China warehouse with the buyer's final delivery address. Instead of arranging pickup, export, international freight, customs and delivery through several unrelated companies, the importer works through one coordinated logistics plan.
The service can be built around sea freight, air freight, rail, road, courier or a multimodal combination. The exact responsibilities depend on the quotation and Incoterm—not simply the words “door to door.”
Önemli: Door-to-door does not automatically mean duty-paid. Under DAP/DDU, the buyer normally handles or funds import clearance, duties and taxes. Under a compliant DDP structure, the seller-side arrangement assumes the agreed import and duty/tax responsibilities. Always confirm the importer of record and every inclusion in writing.

DAP/DDU vs DDP Shipping from China
DDU is an older trade expression commonly used in logistics conversations; in current Incoterms terminology, DAP is generally the closer formal term. Your commercial contract should state the actual Incoterm version and named place.

Door-to-Door Shipping from China FAQ
Does door-to-door shipping include customs clearance?
It can, but the exact responsibility depends on the quotation and Incoterm. Under DAP/DDU, the buyer commonly handles import clearance through its broker. Under an agreed DDP structure, import clearance is coordinated within the seller-side scope.
Does DDP include import VAT?
DDP generally places import duty and tax responsibility on the seller, but the quotation must clearly state how VAT/GST is treated, which entity imports the goods and whether the buyer can recover import VAT. Do not assume recoverability from the word DDP alone.
Who is the importer of record?
The importer of record is the party legally responsible for the import declaration and compliance obligations. The correct party varies by country and transaction. It must be identified before confirming a compliant DDP shipment.
Can BRF deliver to an Amazon warehouse?
BRF can evaluate delivery to Amazon or other fulfilment warehouses. The seller must provide correct carton labels, pallet requirements, appointment information and destination instructions. Amazon is not the importer of record.
Can you deliver to a residential address?
Residential delivery may be possible on selected routes, but access, appointment, tail-lift, unloading, remote-area and oversized-cargo restrictions must be checked before quotation.
How long does door-to-door shipping take?
Total time includes supplier pickup, warehouse handling, export customs, international transit, import clearance and final delivery. Air is normally faster than ocean, but the actual schedule depends on the origin, destination, cargo, carrier, customs and delivery postcode.
