container was owned by the customer, additional attention was required to ensure that the container could be properly used for international transportation and that the necessary shipping and documentation requirements were coordinated in advance.

Customer-Owned Container Solution

One of the interesting aspects of this shipment was the customer’s decision to purchase the container themselves.

For many customers, a standard shipping container is simply transportation equipment. In this case, however, the customer planned to keep the container after delivery and use it as a storage space in Canada.

This created a practical two-in-one solution:

Shipping Container + Storage Unit

The building materials could be transported inside the container from China to Canada, and after delivery to Toronto, the customer could continue using the same container for storage.

This can be a practical option for customers who have suitable space and need additional storage capacity after importing goods.

Building Materials Loading in Weifang

Before loading, the supplier and logistics team coordinated the cargo dimensions, quantity, packaging, and loading sequence.

Building materials can have different shapes, weights, and packaging requirements, so efficient container loading was important to make good use of the available 20GP space.

The cargo was loaded directly into the customer’s container at the Weifang location before the container was transported toward the export gateway.

From Weifang to Toronto

The shipment combined inland transportation in China with international ocean freight and Canadian inland delivery.

The overall logistics route was:

Weifang, Shandong → China Export Port → Ocean Freight → Canada → Toronto

BRF Logistics coordinated the different stages of the transportation process to help ensure that the customer-owned container moved smoothly from the loading location to its final destination.

A Flexible Solution for Importers

This project demonstrates that international shipping can sometimes be combined with a customer’s long-term storage requirements.

For businesses, contractors, construction companies, and property owners importing building materials, a customer-owned container can potentially serve two purposes:

1. International Transportation

The container is loaded at the supplier’s location and transported together with the cargo through the international shipping process.

2. Long-Term Storage

After delivery, the container can remain with the customer and be used as additional storage space, subject to local regulations and site requirements.

This approach can be particularly useful when customers need temporary or additional storage for imported building materials.

出荷詳細

出典： Weifang, Shandong, China
貨物：
